Our Mission Heritage Children reaches high risk youth ages 6-21 from single parent and foster care families. We provide the environment and structure for as they develop self-discipline, respect for authority, a commitment to Truth, and strong work ethic. We call our youth, Arrows as we are here to guide them in a straight line towards their target - adulthood.
Heritage Children is the Warrior for these Arrow, guiding them on a straight path in their journey. With our roots in role modeling traditional family values, Arrows can be strengthened emotionally, academically and spiritually.
Our Program:

Adult/youth role modeling relationships

Activities focused on encouragement and enrichment through instilling values including team building, positive peer relationships, respect, etc

Activities to connect the youth with the needs of the community through city revitalization projects

Youth character building classes including True Abstinence and the Foundation for True Identity.
our Goal is to build strong character within Arrows in this generation and in future generations.

What We See 50% of the population of youth are growing up in single parent families and too many of our youth are in foster care homes due to abondonment, neglect and abuse by those who are supposed to be the foundational support for them. We at Heritage Children want to show these youth that there is hope and to know that they are not forgotten. We spread this message of Hope through providing one-to-one mentoring relationships, Character Development classes, Community Revitalization projects and Activities to encourage and enrich the lives of our Arrows.
Our Mentors Every mentor who participates in our program is a Warrior and makes a commitment to role model traditional family values and life style including love, grace, mercy, compassion, accountability, no condemnation or pressure, and teaching.
These values are important now more than ever as the number of youth in foster care has increased by 60% since we began Heritage Children in 2003. The number of single parent youth has continued to average 50% of the population.

Heritage Children is a 501(c)(3) non profit faith based mentoring organization dedicated to building the next generation who will stand firm on the rock as they face life challenges. Heritage Children currently serves San Antonio, Bulverde and New Braunfels, Texas.
